Shotgun Disciplines
Shotgun sports are challenging and fun! Here at Austin Gun Club it is important to provide as many of the various shotgun disciplines as possible.
Since the start of the club more than 18 years ago we have offered Skeet, Trap, and 5-stand.
During 2019 we added the Mike Tyson Memorial Sporting Clays Course created in memory of the club’s founder.
We enjoy hosting monthly NSCA registered shoots. Check out our shooting events calendar and register directly on Score Chaser.
Our Helice ring is also available to members and their guests. Our calendar of events includes fun shoots as we look forward to hosting USHA sanctioned shoots beginning in 2022.
Who Can Shoot Shotgun?
Anyone. Our sporting clays sports are open to the public on Wednesday through Sunday. Appointments are required.
We are excited about our shotgun sports and will be open to the public. Of course, members are always welcome and we encourage you to bring your friends.
Please inquire about discounts for youth or youth teams.
When can we shoot Shotgun?
Members: Daily 9am – 6pm
Public: Wed-Sun 9am – 6pm
Reservations Required
In sharing our new courses to grow the sport, we will be open to the public on Wednesday thru Sunday from 9am to 6pm. You will need to arrive by 5pm to be able to get on the fields. Appointments are required and can be scheduled through the website via the Schedule link.

Public Rate: $0.60/clay
Helice:
Member Rate: $2.00/target
Public Rate: $3.00/target
Set Up Fee: $50 for Non-Members

Helice – Are you Ready?
Helice, also known as ZZ Birds, is an exciting yet challening shotgun sport. The targets are plastic with wings and can fly in any direction and vary direction while in flight. Five machines that oscillate will throw a random target when the shooter is ready and calls for the target. If you are a bird hunter, Helice can help you fine tune your skills helping to reduce wounding loss, a goal of all hunters.
